Wow, we're in Hawaii. We LIVE in Hawaii!!! Amazing! Such a great Mother's Day treat!!
We woke up quite early Sunday morning, as I suspected we would. Our hotel rooms each had a mini fridge and microwave, so we walked over to the commissary and bought some staples for hotel eating.
We decided not to try to find the church to go to, as we didn't have a car yet. However, a lady that I "met" on Facebook that goes to church offered to let us use her car. What a blessing! She dropped it off at the hotel around 4, and we decided to go take a drive around the island.
We went up through Haleiwa to the North Shore, past the Laie Temple, my old elementary school and house and past the PCC. On the route, David stopped the car at a little beach so that we could all get out and officially say we've been to the beach. As we got on the sand, we saw that there were sea turtles right in front of us. So cool!! I took some pictures. I thought I was taking a picture of Jocelyn getting her feet wet, but it turned out to be a video. So, there is a 3 second video of her not liking water. Ha!
We were approaching Kaneohe, and since we were driving on Kamehameha Hwy, I mentioned to David that we would be driving right past his Aunt's house. He said, "Too bad you don't have their phone numbers, or you could call and see if anyone's home." Little did he know that I had everyones phone numbers (thanks Mom!) LOL!!! Darn, he said. So I got on the phone and made some phone calls. We stopped off at his Aunt's house and we got to meet Traci and her kids.
David spent the week in processing to the post. So me and the kids were on our own. We decided we needed to find the ocean. We headed over to Ewa Beach. We didn't have swim suits, so we rolled up our pants and just put our feet in the water. Well, you know what that means! Yup, Kyron and Porter ended up all the way in the water. It was so much fun. After we were done, we sat down to try and then get all the sand off.
On Wednesday he headed down to Waikiki to pick up our van. Such a great relief to have our own vehicle. We got the loaner van back to our friend from church.
