Beach Day!

We were supposed to go to the beach last night. But it was really cloudy and windy. The boys were very disappointed, of course. So I decided that I should probably take them today. I was quite nervous being the only adult with 4 little ones, only one of which knew how to swim.

I saw a great DIY project last week that I really want to make. It's a coffee table made from a pallet. Then you put a glass/tile mosaic in between the boards. It looked really neat, and I thought it would be awesome if we did the mosaic with beach glass we found here in Hawaii. Link to where I found the table

So, off to the beach we went! They boys all wore their swim trunks, as I knew they'd end up getting wet. I talked to someone that I knew collected beach glass to get some advice on where to find some. So, not knowing what I was doing or going, off we went! I started heading towards Halaiwa, but ended up veering towards Waialua and over to Mokuleia. We found a beach parking lot and headed over. It wasn't a sandy beach, lots of rocks. But they were really cool tide pool rocks. That was fun! I looked down the beach and found a break between the rocks with a bunch of debris at the shore break. So we headed over there. I was so nervous that we wouldn't find anything! But, we did!! The boys were so excited. We ended out there for 2 hours. Such a fun morning!

And here is today's cache of beach glass, oh, and some shells that Porter collected as well.
