We got a house!

We were told that it was really hard to get a 5 bedroom home over here. If we wanted a renovated one it was about a 6 month wait. A new one would take 12 months. We weren't sure what we were going to do, but it was in the realm of wait, pray, and hope, then accept a 4 bedroom if all else failed.

We had looked at all kinds of listings online, and with the BAH rate going down this year, there weren't any rental properties available in the size we needed. Plus, if we lived off post, that would mean we would have to buy another vehicle for David to get to work. That would increase our expenses....car payment, insurance, gasoline, plus utilities for the rental (which we were warned could cost around $400 per month).

We went to the housing office to sign in and get on the wait list. I asked the agent if there was a projection of when one would open up. He looked on his computer and found one that would be available in the middle of July. He said that if we wanted, he could reserve it for us! I said, "Heck yeah!" It is a renovated home, but it was one story! My prayers had been answered! What a blessing. Yes, we will have to live in the hotel for 8 weeks, but other than it being renovated instead of new, it was everything I had hoped we could have.

He gave us a copy of the floor plan and the address. As soon as we left we headed to the home. I was so disappointed. It looked awful! But I've gone back to look a few times. And each time it looks better and better. Nothing like the new ones, of course. Haha! However, I have to remind myself that they have been renovated inside, and that it is a huge blessing to get this home so quickly.
